2009 Chevrolet Tahoe is a large SUV, which shares its basic design with premium-large Cadillac Escalade and GMC Yukon.

Most models of Tahoe are now equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission as well as additional safety features.

Trim Levels and Options

The available trim levels of this full-size SUV include base LS, midlevel LT1 and LT2 as well as high level LTZ.



The base LS comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity, 40/20/40-split bench front seat with built-in storage compartments, full power accessories, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, dual-zone climate control, MP3/CD player, trip computer, and satellite radio.

The above features are included in LT1 and it also adds fog lamps, turn-by-turn navigation feature for the OnStar system, and front bucket seats.

The midlevel LT2 gains power-adjustable pedals, tri-zone automatic climate control, 6–disc CD changer, rear park assist, and remote vehicle start.

Stepping up to the upscale LTZ, it adds 20-inch alloy wheels, premium leather upholstery, heated second-row seats, power lift gate, second-row bucket seats, eight-way driver adjustment heated and cooled front seats, Bose audio system, and rain-sensing wipers.

Engine Specs

Two-wheel drive 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe LS is powered by a 4.8L V8 engine good for generating 295 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission.

All other trims come standard with a 5.3L V8 engine for producing 320 hp and 340 pound-feet of torque. There is even an option of 6.2L V8 engine that boasts 395 hp with 417 lb-ft of torque only on LTZ models. These engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
